Minn Kota trolling motor help

I have a Minn Kota SM 80lb thrust motor. The shaft is broken where the stainless shear pin slides through. You would have thought the shear pin would have broken, but not the case. Looking at parts list, it appears that this is the armature with shaft in it. Does anyone know if this is a major repair or do it yourself job.

Next thing. May be looking for a minn Kota repair person in the Myrtle Beach area.

Thanks

It can be a do it yourself thing but those things can be a PITA to get back in correctly. Watch a few vids and be prepared, and if you can’t get it to line back up correctly you can always take it to Charleston Marine to rebuild. I actually have a spare used one, in real good shape, you can get it from me for 50$ if you’re interested. It’s a 214 core I think and I can double check that for you this afternoon. In Hanahan. Let me know if you would like it.

Thanks guys. I talked to a Minn Kota repair guy in Myrtle Beach. Going to take the motor to him to look it over before I buy parts. If all I have to replace is the armature, it should not be too bad, but I’m going to let them do the repair so I have peace of mind knowing the seals are installed properly.
