minnkota copilot and tiller

how difficult is the copilot to use if one has been using a tiller. thank you. jan

it takes a little getting use to, but the learning curve is pretty short

With out the foot switches if you bass fish the shallows you, won’t like it!

If you are not going to go with I-pilot, definately go with at least auto pilot. That way you can point the motor where you want to go and it will auto correct. With just co-pilot, you will be tied up constantly correcting your heading, making it difficult to fish.

I have the copilot and wish I had the tiller. I am going to order me a foot pedal for now. With the copilot you need 3 hands.

With ipilot you cannot hold the motor just above the water to move around in shallow water. If you bottom-out you are required to move to the back of the boat so that the front rises up…since ipilots do not come with a lift rope this is the only way.
