I want to get my hands on a trap, and I saw some but they are all made out of material that would rust after one day in saltwater. Anybody know of one that is plastic or stainless?

I’ve been using one of the galvanized ones for about 3 years. give it a freshwater rinse when you’re cleaning the rest of your gear at the end of the day

My galvanized metal trap is over 10 years old and has no signs of rust. Follow the directions in the previous post and you will not have any problems…just a fresh water rinse along with the rods and the nets works fine.

The plastic coated ones rust out pretty quick. The crabs just tear the traps up.

Go galvanized and just rinse after you use it. Mine must be about 30 years old.
