Minor hull chips repair question

I found a few small chips in the bottom of the hull. Is this something I can fix with a gel coat repair kit or am I going to have to do more?

Thanks for any help!

It looks like you may have a painted hull (at least at one point) due to the different colors but for gel coat I had a lot of luck buying a patch paste kit from these guys:
http://www.spectrumcolor.com/BoatSearch.aspx

and following these instructions:

Hope this helps.

It is painted for the area that is below the water line, and the paint is fading. Do you think that patch paste kit would work well on this? Thanks again for your reply!

Cant tell how deep the gouges are but if its not deep into the fiberglass then it should work fine. If any of them are too deep then you can use a filler/glass then go with the gel coat. After that you you could repaint over the repair if needed.

Grind out the area. Sand real good to remove all paint. Lay up some glass with filler. Sand smooth. Epoxy paint. Then bottom paint. No need to use gelcoat

If they are real wide flair the edges and lay some cloth as the last step be for painting.

If you want. Prep the area. Have it sanded. Bring it to my shop and we will fix it for free, as long as you are there to learn.

That is so awesome Loopervet, I am going to look at my schedule for next week at work and give you a call. I am usually off Monday and Tuesday and could come either day. For prepping the area it looks like what I have seen online says to use 80 grit sandpaper and to try and sand it to a fairly level surface. There are about 8 small holes like this on the hull total. Is there any additional steps to take when prepping it? I am going to try and do this by hand because I don’t have an orbital sander and not sure the electric sander I have would work.

Dremal it out. Sand all the paint off around it for about 5 inches. Then form it like a pond. Deepest in the middle.

Great, I will give you a call tommorow and see if we can set something up. I can not thank you enough for offering your help.
