MIRACLES UPDATE??

who’s leading, who’s tailing and how was the weather this morning??

It sure would have been nice to have any results from this tournament after the first day of fishing.

Over the last few years, Lowcountryfishscales.com has had the results for the fishermen and fisherwomen by 9 pm after the first day of fishing. It is my understanding that the Fishing For Miracles Tournament decided not to use the great services provided in previous years. I disagree with that decision.

I would like to see the leaderboard and know who caught the big fish for the day.

As for results. I know that a 42 is leading and there are a bunch of 30s on the board. I would think that it is going to take at least a 30 lber. to make the top 30 by the end of the day tomorrow.

Good luck to everyone tomorrow.

As for the weather. If you didn’t get wet this morning, you were inside your house…

who won?

The miracles tournament has its own website for posting the results at no charge as opposed to using other sites you mentioned Robert. I am almost positive they were posted Friday evening for you to check before the next day of fishing; pictures too. In speaking with the volunteer that handles the website, they are talking about ways to make the results more real time and maybe even live streams and updates like big rock, pirates cove, etc. I for one think that would be a great service if they can pull it off. As for their decision, there is no need for a charity tournament to pay for a service it already has; just go to their website.

If you can’t stand behind our soldiers, try standing in front of them.

This is nothing new, but what about the crappy local media coverage? Yes, the P&C had an article, but nothing in it really except who won. The local media does a very poor job covering fishing in general considering the number of people who fish, the opportunities available locally, and the $$$ that it pumps into the economy.

Now professional rastlin is another story! P&C can give a whole page to that. Who watches or cares about that crap anyway???

Normally I wouldn’t respond, but since I fished the tournament and it is a 2 day event, results on the first day are very important to each team. There is a lot of information regarding results that can change the outcome of tournaments that have 2 fishing days.

Lowcountryfishscales provided a service that was reliable. I know that the tournament has a website and I do know that it has results of previous years. The committee has a lot to do and I was expressing my opinion of not using the service that has been only reliable since being hired to post results a few years ago.

As for the website. I didn’t see it anywhere on the brochure for the tournament and there wasn’t anything said about the results being posted at the captains meeting.

I fish a lot of tournaments (probably too many) and results are difficult to get for anglers that didn’t make the board anywhere. It would be nice to see all the weights of the fish regardless if its a money fish or not.

I did see the results in the paper on Saturday with Friday’s results, but I would rather see it at 7-8 pm the same day rather than 5 am. or even after the 2nd day of fishing.

I do know that the service provided by lowcountryfishscales was nominal and probably worth more over the long run to the anglers.

Maybe next year they post results in a timely manner.

I know Rob Donlin and the tournament is still the best thing going and has been for quite a long time. It is a great family event and I will continue to support it until I get lucky and win it.

I’m wonder what constitute a catch by a youth or lady. The reason I ask is that it seems that if there was a youth or lady on the boat they caught the fish that was weighed in (the biggest fish for the boat). We had our youth reel in EVERY thing that hit. The only time an adult touched the rod was to get it out of the rod holder.

There are no official rules on the website.

i personally think there is ALOT of fudging on those categories…

That’s why I asked the questions. We went WAY out of our way to not break any rule. We had young eyes and ears around. We waited 5 minutes to put lines in because it was not 6:30. My son looked around and said no one will know. We all said, but we would know. and the rules state lines in at 6:30.
Lesson taught, hopefully lesson learned.
