I don’t post often, but I figured I’d share a few pics of fish from the yak caught over the past few months. I’ve gotten heaps of priceless advice on this forum. Thank you for that.
Enjoy the pics, happy Friday!

Didn’t really expect to put one in the boat that day. The stringer was not ideal.

I wish I’d stopped at Haddrell’s or something to get an official weight. Went 11 lbs on some guy’s boga grip at the boat landing, but that may have been a little generous. Certainly a personal best nonetheless!

10" bluegill from Wadboo Creek.
Wow, that sheep is awesome. Way to go!
Thanks!
Every time I look at those sheepshead teeth either I think “Heeeey you guuuuyyyyss!”

Any chance of getting the river producing such nice sheep? Do they mainly like the piers?
Many go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.
Mountainman, I haven’t been targeting the sheeps for all that long, but from what I hear, they’ll mostly move offshore during the winter months. Some should also stick around deep structure, i.e. bridges, piers, rocks, etc… anything that can grow barnacles.
I’m not sure how far up the rivers they go in the summer. I’ve always wanted to try the Westmoreland bridge over the Ashley but haven’t gotten around to it. It looks like there is some nice growth on those pylons so there ought to be some sheeps!
