Miss Amanda 4/22

Long Enuff, another buddy and I went out today in search of some hoos and dolphin. We put out the spread around the ledge and trolled toward the 380 hole. In roughly 330’ and 71° water, we landed our first two dolphin. We, of course, trolled that area for a while. We then headed on out after no more action. We found some warmer water, up to 75°. We were within a few miles frome the 380 when we caught 3 more dolphin. We saw plenty of the flying bait and scattered weeds, but 5 dolphin were all we caught. No hoos. Two of the dolphin came off the planer running around 30’ down. We had two bulls and 3 cows, none of which were huge, but will make a few great meals. :stuck_out_tongue::slightly_smiling_face: As usual, we had a good time, even if we didn’t fill the coolers!! The pond was beautiful!! Can’t wait to get back out there…

Good day. Any size or just slingers

You weren’t skunked Lynn, that’s the important part. You got some meat, you made it out and back safe, sounds like a good day.

Nice job on the fish, was a slow day for most… Waiting for Top2Bottom1 to post to see how today went. Was a little rougher, according to the weather reports but should have been a good day.

Unfortunately, they were not real big. They were on the line between slingers and gaffers. That’s ok though, it’s just the start, and they will taste great!! :slightly_smiling_face::smiley::wink:

I’m down to the single digits now man. Only days away and I’ll be home. I just hope the boat is ready by the time I get back. I’ve been keeping tabs on forecasts and surface temps for the last few weeks. Trying to keep my head in the game from all the way out here. Thanks again so much Lynn for all your help. I can never repay you for all you’ve done.

Lynn,

Thanks for the congrats. Congrats to you and your crew on catching the dolphin! There was a 47lb bull caught during the tournament. I think it was the boys from Chaos out of Charleston. Impressive fish.

Nice early carolina gold report!
