Long Enuff and I started trolling in around 130’. We caught cudas, cudas, and more cudas. We also caught 2 nice kings. We trolled out to around 250’. We didn’t see a single dolphin until we were bringing lines in and finally caught a decent cow in 100’. Maybe we should have stayed shallow all day. Who knows, that’s fishing. We had a great day. We had a nice ride out, then it got snotty for the fishing. We dodged a couple big storms and then it was like glass for the ride in. We hit a near shore reef on the way in to hopefully catch a few spades, but we did not see any life except a 7 or 8’ shark.
On a side note for those who knew, I had more injections in my back today. I’m doing good and feeling great due to the meds I am on.

I agree! We gaffed and released a ton of them the other day. Unfortunately, we didn’t put a dent in their population…

we need to have a trash can tournament. trifecta of trash. cuda-donkey-bonito. Follow it with a shark tournament the next weekend.

Sorry I missed your call earlier! I have been chillin on the meds. So far, I feel the same. They said it could take up to 2 weeks before I have any relief. Of course, that is what they said with all of the other injections too…

Are the Spades long gone Lynn?
I don’t know for sure. This is the first year that I have fished for them. I do know that I have not seen them the last few times I have been out there.
Anyone know how long they stick around?

I read or was told that they are around in numbers in June and July. After that they tend to be scarce. I dont know from experience, just what I picked up.
glad you got to got out and caught something. a friend of mine and i took my niece out on sat it was kinda ruff went to near shore for some bottom bumping she caught 4 small black bass before we left it got to bad 
water coming over the bow then went to jetties nothing but some baby shark. then went to fort i missed 1 whiting and caught some bigger sharks before moving in did not catch anything else but she said she had a great time that all that matter to me:smiley:
