Miss Amanda 7/5......

Long Enuff and I did a little bottom bumping. The ride out was pretty decent as the seas were mainly swells. That didn’t last long, though, it got snotty quick as we started to wet hooks. We fished in between 80’ and 110’, drifting and anchored. We caught plenty of good sized c-bass, and we lost a couple of nice fighting fish. We also caught a few b-liners and a keeper sized ARS. I guess I need a lot more experience because I couldn’t even put us on any trash fish, let alone some serious meat fish. Well, I did reel in a nurse shark, but other than c-bass, nothing for the most part. We had a great time on the water, and we will get them next time!!

Sounds better than my good day at work!

I was wishing my bote had combing pads yesterday for sure. Be thankful Miss Amanda’s got them!

Definitly beats a good day at work for sure! Can’t argue with fried up sea bass filets!

@ Paul and Russ: It sure was nice to get back out there, regardless of the catch. It had been a couple of weeks since I wet a hook. Hopefully, we will be able to go again soooooon…:slightly_smiling_face:

@ Wes: Those pads sure do help. Although I like your setup, my shins haven’t forgot about fishing on the “Tigress” when it was a little snotty. I wish we could have boated some nice groupas and triggas, but I guess there are plenty of them out there getting a little bigger before we catch 'em next time…:wink:

Lynn nice shark don’t catch alot of nurses here
At least you made it out.
I on the other hand // Attempted to go out monday w/ a friend here in manning i’d been promising for seems like two years.
The stars allined we both were off work and the weather was gonna be decent.
Dropped the boat in around 6am fired up and all looked good, spent a little time running around trying to catch some busting bait w/no luck so headed out winya bay. Starbord motor starts coughing hmmm
drops in rpms then jumps back up hmm. Maybe i got a fuel issue, i stopped switched tanks and changed my fuel water seperaters to be safe before the other motor was effected. This did nothing and by the time we broke the jetties i was worried as the problem was getting worse and got a oil pressure warning. Stopped pulled the cowling and checked the oil looked ok if maybe a little low so added some hoping this was a low oil problem. Not, Well still had one motor so limped over to winya reef and tried bottom fishing there for awhile and as expected sea bass but all under size. By this time my starbord motor wouldn’t run at all. We messed around outside the jetties hoping to catch a king or two on the ballyhoo the only bait i had. Nothing so limped home embarrassed and bummed that the day had been ruined. Glad i had two motors and even happier that the one didn’t quit when i was 50mi out as one motor wouldn’t plane my boat and it would have been a long painfull ride home. Boats in the shop getting looked at but haven’t heard what the problem is yet.
Bottom line there is such a thing as a bad day fishing
Glad yours was better and may that sweet 150 keep running for ya.

Lynn, my friend, you have got to have a better seafood selection in your freezer than does Harris Teeter!

Glad you made it out and had a good safe time with Bill. We’re gonna hit the offshore fishing again hard when the second run of sport fish come 'round. Daddy’s planning to come back (this time with my evil twin!:imp:, so you’ve got to be part of the team!
