First Off big thanks to Lynn. Went to Edisto and headed out. Tried to catch some spades for the first time. Thanks to Penny and all of yall that have posted knowledge about this fun sport. Lynn brought three to the boat. He also brought 3 red snapper but only one was leagal. Some grunts and a trigger. (all caught on bottom rig) I got my line broke more than I ever have in one trip and only put one fish in the boat but it was a first for me ( did bring in a shark, rat red, and some ring tails). We were using shrimp on medium action spinning rods with #2 hooks and 20lbs flouro leader. I thought I had hooked a torpedo and an epic 45 min fight began. Spooled me three times we he saw the boat and gaff. The last time I told Lynn man I can see the backing. He pulled anchor and we chased. 28# cobia on the boga grip. Looked much bigger Fried some up last night and it was tasty. Open for any cooking ideas. Sorry Lynn the other pics are fuzzy. Caught him right here
Thank you Jazzed! That was the first cobia landed on the “Miss Amanda”. As far as that goes, first spades, trigger and endangered ARSs(3, 1 keeper) caught on my little boat.[:0]
There were also a bunch of grown cudas around.
I hope we have another fun time at it tomorrow!!
