I just want to take a minute to say goodbye to my oldest best friend,my dog Napoleon. He was 19 years old and the best, most loyal friend I have ever had. There’s never been a time in my adult life that he wasn’t there. He was a wonderful buddy and never judged me when I came home drunk or made less than sound relationship decisions. He had cataracts ,couldn’t see or hear very well and was a lovable pain in my ass till the day he left. I’ll see you one day old friend.
Roo has been down and had to go see vet today…drugged but happy right now on her bed at our feet. Dogs are indeed mans…and woman’s best friend. Unconditional love and trust. Know when we are hurting. Ask no more then for a pat on the head , a scratch of the ears and a ride in the car/ truck. Today was a roller coaster with Roo. So pitiful :(. Donnie even more pitiful. Both are asleep now .
19 years of memories and love…hold fast to them. May they and our thoughts and prayers give you comfort.
Sorry for you Killswitch. It is always a tough day to lose your dog. I have 3 buried here in the yard, and yes I dug each grave. They become such an important part of our lives, at least I look at them as my kids. I’ll say a prayer for you bud…
A Christian Saint is recorded as saying “a dog is better than I, for he always loves and does not judge”.
The only negative thing about dogs is their life span. For some reason I keep telling myself that God has set it up this way so we have the honor of enjoying the love and companionship of more than one dog during our life span.
I’m very sorry for you. Dogs are family. I’ve never had one to make it that long. I’ve buried 4 on our place, keep saying I’ll never get another one, but I always do.
