Pon Pon went out over the radio at 0850 this morning for a vessel in distress identified as a 23’ Gray Sportsman with a white bimini top. No word of them being located nor hailed over the radio . Saw the Coast Guard Helo and assisted in locating the vessel with no luck. We came back in around 1530 and the Pos Pon was still active. I hope these men are found safe and in good health. Anyone have any updates as of late? The search was in the vicinity of the Comanche Reef.

We were at the Comanche when the helo flew over in a search pattern. Didn’t see a thing from the tower or driving. Pon Pon was still going when we hit the dock that evening.
I hope they’re alright too. I was inshore yesterday and I was listening to CH16 when the emergency call was made and when they fired off their EPRIB. Sounded like there were several boats close by the last known Cords but nobody was able to see them. I didn’t head offshore yesterday buy I fished for a little while on the south jetty end and the waters were really calm. Only thing I can think off is they hit a shipping container, boat went down fast, and they didn’t have their ditch gear ready. Either way hope they’re safe.
