missing kayakers?

Anyone here anything about two missing boys in their twenty’s missing while kayaking? Apparently they were missing near the lighthouse on Moriss and have not been heard of. Search and rescue is out. Friend of ours are their parents and our friends have not heard a thing

I made a post in a different section about this.

there was an update to the Post & Courier article that said one of the guys was found off Kiawah. I think they listed his name in the article.

Thanks, hopefully they find the other one and he will be fine as well.

I wonder why they separated? Buddy boats should stay together. He wouldn’t be my buddy again if he ever left me :face_with_head_bandage:

Sure hope he is found safe.

Tough day to be out on a kayak, especially out off the beaches.

Around Morris island lighthouse isnt the best place to kayak, thats for sure. That current in the pass is nasty.

this is awful. hope there’s a good outcome

Some got to win, some got to lose…

I was in the folly Saturday afternoon, not a kayak day even in the creeks. inlet crossing, no way. very sorry to hear, hoping second one found today.

CG found the other kayak floating with nobody in it. We were about 6 miles offshore on monday near edisto and saw a CG chopper headed out. We assumed that they were looking for the young man.

A body was found in the Botany Bay area, seems like it might be the 2nd kayaker.

Leaving our numerous inland waters and going offshore is something to be taken very seriously, especially in a kayak.

We have another one missing off Tybee Island (Savannah) today.

I told my wife there was something hinky about that story. I grew up in that creek and there ain’t no way to get lost enough that helicopters and boats won’t find you pretty quick. It’s in sight of CG station Tybee.

He sure wasted a lot of resources with everybody looking for his sorry self for 3 days.
