Mixed Offshore Results

We went out twice last week and are planning another trip this week. It seems really quiet out there for this time of year!

Most of what we were catching was in the 150-180’ range.

Even on established weed lines in 400-1200’ off Georgetown hole we caught 0 mahi.

Not sure if this is what everyone else is experiencing, but seems like they’re around the lege this year.

I will try to put up a better fishing report - but would love to hear what others are seeing before heading out again on Thursday

Went out of Charleston last Monday to the ledge and to 600’. Slow fishing, only had 7 strikes. No one was catching much. Most believe the Mahi aren’t here yet.

Went on Monday the 4th of May. Boated 5 mahi all gaffers, lost a sail and few more mahi. Not slow, not a super-hot bite, a good day. Saw a free jumping blue.

Deli area 220ish, 72 degrees, lots of weed.

Went Saturday 9th. Mackerel and bottom fish trip to change up. Ok catch but the mackerel tasted great. One good sized king and some other stuff. Caught a Spanish mackerel, a nice one, in 100 feet of water which was new for me. I made the classic mistake of leaving fish to find fish.

Going again Friday or Saturday, I expect. Forecast for Thursday is bouncier than later in the week from what I see.

Reports of everything from great to slow, not consistent. We have been catching fish, even if no spectacular days.

Good luck, nothing being caught on the dock or the hill based on the reports I have seen.
