After work today, I was able to get out for a couple of hours. I knew the tide was going to be down. I figured I would check out some spots while they were above the water.
Monday Night Fishing and then some Monday Night Football. It doesn’t get any better than this(someone que the swedish bikini team)
I had 5 reds on the take. I brought in 3.
I came into a new creek. A ton of baitfish were bundled in the mouth. This had to hold fish. after a couple of bends and a fork I found them. The creek wasn’t more than 10 feet wide and some spots less than 10 inches deep. But half a dozen reds were waiting in their hole. I spooked a few at first but waited them out for a few minutes. They came back. With the narrow creek that was concealed in grass stalks, I knew I was going to get a few hang ups. And that’s what happened. Hung in the grass. Not wanting to miss the Reds laying in the shallows, I switched rods. They didn’t want the DOA shrimp so let’s try the Trout Trick.
Fish On!!!. This one was a bruiser and got the best of me. After thrashing the puddle for 30-40 seconds, it got off. Oh well. I’m stoked. I decide to pop up on the bank to get a better angle to free my DOA shrimp only to break it off. But I saw the rest of the squad. Redfish galore. I head back to the boat to get a more stout rod. I was fishing a 6-6 ML spinner with 10lb power pro. I went with a 7 footer and 15lb PP. Rigged with a TT.
I didn’t get 30 yards from the boat. I looked into the creek and my only thought was “this isn’t fair” The mud bank is about 4 feet above the surface and the grass is chest high. But there was a small opening, loaded with redfish. I dropped my TT nearly straight down. BAM!! fish on. No more than 10 feet from me. Like I said. Not fair…for the fish.
I was able to pull this one up the mud wall. But barely.
I did find a use for my old combat boots. Works great on the oyster beds.
Because I was 4 feet above the water, I had to cli
