I’m on my second external moeller 12 gal tank. It has the same problem as the last one and it’s a different model. The float mechanism quits working and doesn’t give a empty or full reading. It’s usually stuck on full i think. Aren’t these popular tanks? Anyone else have an issue and is there a fix?
Been there, done that. They are a POS gauge mechanism that requires another hole in an otherwise good tank. Keep a 24" wooden dowel on board to measure the level…much more accurate!
Had same issue with a 6 gallon tank. Removed the mechanism and “shaved” a little off the swing tabs and it has worked perfectly since. I used a Dremel tool.
I always used the lift indicator: when it weighs around 30 lbs, you’re down below a half a tank.
