MOJO '78 Mako 25 Rebuild - Got my Mojo workin

Not many people would have had the patience or determination to stay with this project and see it this far, much less to the end. Dividends will be paid when she splashes.
Great job so far…Stay the course, she’s getting close.

Methacrylated and glassed lots you cannot see here

New grinding record inside the console… about 3 hours straight. Will beef it up to house all the electronics and shelving/cubbies for organization once bonded to the deck.

We also sanded and painted the above-deck cockpit and midships storage areas yesterday since I finished glassing the underside of the gunnels that I replaced.

You forgot go fishing . That sure is gunna be a nice overhauled boat .

grab the gaff and another cold beer

What are you gonna coat the floor with when you’re done?
I see “linex” on your list. Wondering if you’re using linex for the non-skid?
I’ve got to coat the floor of my boat where I made some repairs and was planning on using KIWI grip.

Thought I would add some input here in reply to RDW?s post. I redid the floor and sides of a boat I have with a product called hydrostop. It is basically a rubberized roofing material that has UV inhibitors in the ?top coat?. I put this material on a deck at my house 10 years ago and it still looks great and has required no maintenance. This is a deck that gets direct sun light 90% of the day, mid morning till sunset. Back to the boat, I pressure washed the boat deck and inside and then gave it a good scrubbing and roughed up anywhere that it was needed. Rolled on a few coats of top coat with no addition of cloth material( use cloth for roofs and deck coverings). After it cured completely and I have used the boat some, I have tried to peel it off cant. It stays cool in the middle of the day and comes in a variety of colors. Certainly not its intended use but I think it will serve as a boat deck covering/surface very well. It’s also around 80 bucks for a 2 gallon bucket as well. Just thought I would share.

Starting to add reinforcement to the console and get the console interior floor pan finished up.

Hey, that kinda looks like a boat!:smiley:

Thanks for the update, keep it comin’

Seeing this picture makes me think she is screaming for the new Yamaha 4 cylinder 200 in a twin layout. Looks amazing. Looking forward to seeing you guys out there.

what kind of engines/ engine are you putting on it Wes?

“look low and away…But watch out for in your ear.”

F250 at first. Want to run in the ocean and see where the rocker and waterline are. Could add a flotation bracket for twin 4 cylinders for 400HP or upgrade to an f300. I think I know what the boat will want to run best with, and that’s one of the new F300’s. not dropping the coin until I see what the boat does with an F250 though.

Guys with fairly original hulls (heavier than my modified deck and transom) have been around 54mph top end and 3mpg cruise with the 300 HPDI. Some have twin 200 2 strokes or twin Suzuki 175 4 strokes. This hull came with a single 200 when it was first built. Some bad twin 115’s.

It should be able to hold an F350, but I want to see the waterline relative to the deck a d how the boat runs first before anything that drastically different.

Haven’t been able to do much. Sorry for lack of pics. Deck is faired, and the bottom is about to get new gelcoat.

Will post a few pics from my phone soon.
