mold removal and fiberglass work

With the strange temps and the large amounts of rain this winter I ended up with a significant amount of mold on my boat (while covered) and am having trouble getting it off. What is the best thing yall have found to get mold off safely? What do you use for regular washing throughout the year? The “boat wash” I bought might as well be pure water…doesn’t work. Im only about 2 years into having a boat and am still learning all the “tricks” to taking good care of it.

Also, I have a few pretty good sized cracks at the bottom of the console that I think is allowing water in to the storage part of the console during washdowns. what is the best way to repair those cracks without a ton of expense. Boat is a "94 Scout so it is not in pristine shape, but want to keep it as nice looking as possible.

As far as the mold and deep cleaning, see IM4USC’S posts in a related thread, lots of good info.

As far as regular washing, all i have/will ever use is Orpine. Love that stuff. Sorry, but i am no help on fiberglass work.

For years I have used clorox . Spray it on after washing down with a mix of purple power 1 part pp to 8 parts water . You can use water to dilute the clorox ,1/2 is what I use . Don’t wash it off , leave it to do the work .If you have a huge buildup you might want to wash it down again with soap - water. I have been doing this for many years with no problems except it messes your clothes up so wear some rags.

Thanks for the suggestions…I’ve got some of the oxalic acid I’m gonna try at some point soon… And then start Fresh with a better maintenance cleaning routine with the orpine or Clorox/purple power.
