Moncks Corner Marine bloody deck 6/19

MCMarine, DolphinD, me, and my g/f hit the Edisto Banks / 226 Hole yesterday… trolling was slooooooooooooow. No big breaks and all the weeds were scattered way out.

Got a small wahoo first thing high speeding.
Dropped the spread in 120’ and got a small gaffer bull right off the bat and two slingers then nothing for 2 hours all up and down the ledge. Couldn’t keep the weeds off the hooks during half that time, so we pulled em in and ran out to the 226 with Scoutin4Goodies who had been having similar luck trolling so far SW of us. Got there and dropped the spread again and got by Scoutin4Goodies and saw them releasing one of their TWO sailfish they hooked up as a double! We had nothing at all and saw nothing, so we headed inshore and saw the daymaker* plywood floating just inshore of the hole in about 800’ of water. Pulled a schoolie out and it was bloody decks after that. We caught probably over 40 dolphin and fed calimari rings to even more. Two big sharks hung out behind the boat the whole time so we had to fight them hard on the spinning gear to keep them from running right to the sharks. Kept 24 dolphin and one wahoo for the day. No trash fish caught… I’m sure a day of nothing but cudas and/or kings is due for me soon after this.

Big thank you to the gentlemen who let us run their boat yesterday. It was a pleasure and we owe you.

Should have jumped in and stuck some!

Sounds like a good time!

Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the heck is the ceiling?

Hey great job. Good to see your bad turn out a day maker.
I just put my Cat in for repair at Monks Corner Marine and talked to a salesman he said he was going to go. Was he on the boat with you.
Anyway great job.

Did he have a nice costa del mar tan around his eyes? If so, then yes.
