Got in a short trip this am. Fished the lower lake and had plenty of action, but they were all small with maybe 1 or 2 small keeper sized fish out of about 12.
Fished till about 9 , but it was an early bite with almost all caught between 6 and 7:30.
All on lightly weighted freelines in 20-35 fow.
Nice. Planning on heading out there on Thursday to the lower lake and seeing what I can get. What were you using?

Live herring. Gonna give it a try casting atificials tomorrow am.

Awesome, let us know how it goes. Will be using herring or shad, depending on what the fish camps have. Will be sure to look around the same depth, and maybe a little deeper.
Just FYI, when he says lower lake, he means lower end of Murray.

Good catch. I thought it was odd when Beneskew mentioned “fish camps”, but didn’t think a whole lot about it.
So much of the focus in this group is on Murray it’s easy to forget there are other places with stripers as well. Lol

BTW, I’m putting in at the dam (lake Murray #128522
at 6am and fishing till about 8 in the morning (Wed) If anyone is free then and wants to cast atificials for a couple of hours, just let me know.

Raised the white flag and headed back to the ramp at 7:30.

Well, don’t put too much faith into my report. Just saw on FB a friend of mine got a 2 man limit of keepers this morning before 7am.

My Dad did really well on Hartwell casting artificial this morning too. I was happy for him but that is tough phone call to get at work, telling me how great it was.
