Pushed out of Sullivan’s Island at about 4:30 aboard Tighten-Up and the goal was to fill the fish box with dolphin. We headed beyond Edisto Banks and dropped lines in 600 feet. In the first hour, we just had 2 small p-nut dolphin bites which didn’t even damage the bait. At 9:30, we had a quintuple hook-up with 5 dolphin landed in 800 feet. 2 more passes, 6 more dolphin. No monsters but 8-20 lbs. Found a rip at 10:30, and had multiple triples and quadruples. Nothing bigger than 25 lbs, but no p-nuts. Filled the box at noon with 35 and headed back to Sullivan’s. Boat was back on the trailer at 3:00. Color, size, wire, or mono didn’t matter. 78-79 degree water.

very nice catch!
did your see many flyers in deep water
Yes, most of the fliers that we saw were in 600+ feet, but as we were leaving because of ice issues (started with 400 lb.) a school of 20-25 dolphin came up busting fliers on the rip like stripers at lake Murray or Santee. We literally could have caught 100 on this rip if we wanted to as we only fished 2 or so miles but it continued for at least 10, and as we cruised to get everything ready for the ride in, we saw several small schools and nice singles. Right place at the right time with no other boats around. We only had our lures in the water for a few minutes each time before a school would be spotted and all rods went off. Definitely a day you dream of.

Great day Ron,y’all coming up for the Gtown meat fish.
Rad we saw the same thing in 300’… they were busting the water hungry and pass after pass was double hook ups… we ended up with 19. Saw a school of blackfin or bonita surface but could not get them to bite. Great day tight lines!
Awesome! Great report Ron.
