Hit the water about 7:30 with 12 baits from Ned’s all alone. The water was rough! I mean bow out the water, riptide throwing water all over the place rough! I stuck it out until the wind died down hanging right in front of the Yacht club on a 60’ hump. No action. Wind died, and crossed the lake towards Jake’s cove in about 54’.
No action for first 20 minutes. The sun set, and a light switch turned on. Had 2 doubles by myself, and left biting fish, and the fish finder on fire with my 5 and done. Had 2 solid 10# fish. Was a little worried I would be rusty after not fishing pretty much all year. Good sign for summer fishing.
Congrats on a nice outing! That wind on Monday evening sure was strong - I thought about heading out for an evening cruise to cool off, but didn’t even need to leave the dock
Planning on fishing Thursday evening - might head to Jake’s if I don’t find enough fish around D2 on MSC Club Map. Marked a school in the cut on South side Friday night about 70’.
How far into Jake’s did you go? On my drive over the dam Monday morning I saw one boat a good distance out in front of Jake’s - roughly out from the swimming area.
If you would rather not disclose on the web - I understand. If you like, feel free to leave a PM or call me on my cell 803-727-9368.
I may be out there on the same spot thursday evening as well. Other wise I would disclose.
Just look for a small yellow boat. It’s been my goto hump for about 2 years now. Never not caught a fish. It’s further north than the swimming area. Almost to the main channel straight out of Jake’s.
Cruised the big bay last night - nice breeze and awesome sunset. Saw one big center console with 5 guys in proximity of the location you describe, but appeared to be fishing over much deeper water.
Marked fish in West section of D2 on MSC map last night. Plan to start there this evening. Will keep an eye open for y’all. Feel free to call out if things are slow. 803-727-9368.
