Monday pm on Murray

Bought i doz. BB’s at Lake World at 4:oopm. Lines in at the towers shortly after that. 1st fish at 4:40, a peanut. Marking alot of fish near the towers but they wouldnt take the herring, they would just hit it (mayabe small ones). We went to Mouth of Jakes Cove, idled around looking but none found on FF. 6:30 we headed back to towers, picking up several other small ones 16-19". 7:30 pm all the boats started showing up. One pontoon next to us had 6 guys on it with maybe 8 rods in holders were catching a good amount. Most of what they were catching were small. They went to the Better bait shop and got smaller herrin. We had bigger herring and didnt catch as many, but seemed to be catching larger fish. We ended up with 4 more fish 22, 23, and two 31. I brought a neighbors 13 yr old son, which he caught several, and one of the 31", it was he’s largest fish ever. He was stoked. The smile on his face was priceless. Honesty, our boat and the pontoon were really the only ones catching fish. I cant figure out why. Most of the fish hit while reeling in slowly or using the trolling motor to ease around. Both ways, the bait is on the rise. Just a thought.
