Got on the water around 0630 Monday with a buddy from work. Located some mullet during the negative tide with ease. Started fishing the bottom near docks. Started out with a couple lower slot reds. Moved around a bit into deeper water. Had the first rod knock down around 9, a couple of hours into the rising tide. Managed to pull in a 28 inch red. The 2nd hit almost took the rod out of the rod holder. It must have had some size because it got away under a dock. Not even 10 minutes later my buddy experiences the same thing, and he was using a medium heavy rod with star drag off shore reel. Feeling defeated we moved down the creek and managed a couple larger slot reds. Around noon we were about to call it when my buddy had a rod knock down that sounded like it was going to spool him. After pulling the anchor and chasing it down, he pulled in a 3 foot cownose ray. We both limited out on reds. After only catching a blue and small flounder, we called it at 2:30.

Thanks guys. Unfortunately I do have to white out the docks, because I have had experiences in the past. Some places are fished heavily enough, last thing I need is to show up to a dock with 5 guides around it, I already compete with them for many spots lol.

True that. Those darn guides are always cyber scouting…

I completely understand about whiting the dock out. just kidding with you. It would take the fun out of fishing if everyone said where there fishing. I like the hunting part of it.

Great report but you didn’t have to white-out the dock. lol That is awesome.
That dock will be fishless if he keeps picking his honey hole clean, but at least he won’t have anyone else to blame it on since he whited out the dock.
