Decided to look around and find some fish in a new spot. Found fish just inside the mouth of bear creek anchored up in 65 foot. The fish were at two levels 40 foot and on the bottom. The fish I decided to go with were the ones on the bottom they looked like better fish and it turns out they were. Not a single fish caught was under 21.Downrods and chumming worked. Also, the bait did not die. Looks like I am out for a while since my Yamaha threw a rod out the side of the block on the way in. That is why the report is late I was to pi$%%^ off to report. My motor was just rebuilt 100 hours ago. Reports will continue when I am back in action.
I need to figure out the secret coords for Bear Creek fishing. I have tried there twice with less than results. Right at the mouth on the side away from the little marina nestled in there…am I fishing on the wrong side?
There are several places in Bear Creek that have been good for me. Right off you will notice Bear Creek is a big creek. You just have to figure out if there are more at the mouth like Controlfreak found, or on the secondary points, or way in the back. In a month the birds will take all of the guess work out of it. But then that also means everybody else will know where they are too… lol. Most of the spots I fish, I was pulling live bait…Most of the bigger fish were on Gizzard Shad…Just so happens one of my better places for catching Gizzards on Murray is also in Bear Creek… Sorry to hear about your motor controlfreak. Chipman, no speculating by you on the secret Gizzard shad hole…lol
