I don’t usually post reports because I’m usually fishing for perch or green fish. Caught two decent stripers late this afternoon in the elbow area casting a super fluke. The little one weighed 5 pounds 7 ounces the big one weighed 14 pounds 10 ounces. Had another good fish pull off this evening.
Lost one and caught a short fish early this morning with the same bait.
Nice fish…

Very nice work Spoon!
Caught another decent striper this afternoon. Not quite as big as yesterday. But fought about as hard. Only weighed 9 1/2 pounds. That was the only keeper I caught today.
Pictures or it didn’t happen Spoon!

Mike, Spoon doesn’t have a smartphone to take and post pictures. But trust me. If he said it happened, it happened. Just wish we had that caliber of fish on Saturday.

Anytime now the really big fish are going to be showing up. Water is warming up bait is getting very shallow. Did a little prospecting on Sunday and found some very large Fish Feeding on Mongo gizzards. At first I actually thought it was Largemouth boiling but once I got closer it was all Pompano size gizzards surfacing, And it wasn’t long before the explosions started happening here and there. These were teenage fish easily. It won’t be long boys!

The Bream in my cove have been getting exploded on by big fish. I’m not thinking Striper, I’m thinking LM, but I’m yet to see what fish are causing the explosions. I know they’re feeding on Bream as I’ve seen the massive schools of them. Sucks not having a TM right now. Need me some mongo action!

Ya, saw the same thing last week! Under a dock in very shallow water way back in pocket. also thaught it was a LM but now don’t think so. Gona try and catch some Mongo Giz this afternoon and fish AM.
I got a bunch of mongo gizzards and a few river herring for such a special occasion. How far up lake would one need to go this time of year? Never been above Dreher Island.
Not far!
My fish are getting smaller! Biggest one this evening was only a little over 8 1/4 pounds. I know this can’t last long so I’m enjoying it while I can!
You boys have the lingo down…MONGO laughs
While I can neither confirm, nor deny, what MM stated…I will say her little brother bent a $^&* hook on a swimbait yesterday in 6’ of water. Ran out of Owners and decided to throw anyway. Lesson learned and hooks ordered. Ugh
Oh well. Only three days in a row with stripers over 8 pounds. My streak ended when I had a big fish pull off. Still it was fun trying to keep the streak going! I saw a lot less activity overall tonight. I need another cloudy windy afternoon.
