mono backing for braid

whats the ratio for mono backing for braid. like if im using 80# pro power what # mono would i use to back that? thanks

I don’t use mono backing. I put a tape strip on the spool so the braid has something to dig in to. I would think 1:1 tho. You DON’T want to get spooled and have the mono backing be the weak point.

I fill the spool with mono and leave just enough room for 150 yards of braid. I only use it for bottom fishing myself.

Being superstitious is bad luck.

I put some wraps of electrical tape…Although it is hard to tell how much to use…They should start selling spinning reels wit one spool for mono, one for braid. the one for braid with a rubber insert so not to slip.

I recently spooled an old Penn Peer and used about 50-75 yards of 60 lb mono and 300 yds of 50 lb Powerpro

Somebody told us Wall Street fell but we were so poor we couldn’t tell. Cotton was short and the weeds were tall but Mr. Obama gonna save us all
