Monthly Presentation Ideas

I’ve been keeping a list of presentation ideas for the last couple years but wanted to ask everyone if they had any ideas for monthly presentations that I can add to the list. I have 3 more meetings to schedule this year and thought there might be some fresh ideas out there. Please feel free to throw anything out there that you might like to see. Don’t worry about whether or not it is already on the list. Just let it fly!

It would be awesome if we could get David Dibenedetto, who now lives in Charleston, SC to come speak about his writing and maybe feature our club in the magazine “Garden & Gun” where he is Vice President and Editor in Chief. (Yes, they include fishing in the magazine as well). He wrote the book “On The Run: An Angler’s Journey Down the Striper Coast” which is a fantastic book and describes following the striper migration down the east coast in the fall of 2001 and the people he meets along his journey. In the last chapter he fishes with Capt. Devin Cage out of Oregon Inlet and catches his largest fish of the journey. I have also fished on Capt. Cage’s boat “The Poacher” a couple of times so the story was particularly appealing to me.

I missed the last meeting and Bill Carson may have talked about it but I’d like to hear more about Compressed High Intensity Radar Pulse (CHIRP) technology in sonar applications… I would like to hear about cast net preservation and net mending as well…

Team Shad Up & Fish

If you’ve had fun catching fish on the transom bait, you are welcome…

I’ve spent about 85% of my life’s wages on fishing, the rest I just wasted…

I would like some information on reel maintenance, repair, and where to find parts. How to replace rod eyes the correct way and suppliers. I mean like a professional, not a man cave king.

Do you want to cut bait?

Team Striper Redemption

Some good ideas so far. Being new to the club, I’m not sure what has been covered, but I would like to know more about keeping live bait (herring and gizzards) alive and also the latest on bait tank technology. What works best, the best tanks, aeration systems, water treatment, etc.

Thanks for the ideas! Keep them coming!!!
