For you guys that fish almost year-round, do you think the moon phase affects the wahoo bite during the colder months, say November through April as it does the rest of the year? I really want to get out next month after the wahoo and wasn’t sure what effects the lunar calendar has on them now.
The moon effect isn’t seasonal. The fish being around is seasonal. Good rule of thumb for wahoo is days leading up to the full moon/new moon and maybe one or two days on the backside of the full moon. I believe it has more to do with the heavier tides concentrating forage on ledges/humps than it does with some celestial force turning on a feeding mechanism. Just one man’s opinion.
Do not tell fish stories where the people know you; but particularly, don’t tell them where they know the fish.
