More great work from HappyBob

After attending the Charleston Boat Show in January and seeing firsthand the inflation in boat prices, I made the frugal decision to upgrade the seating on my current boat rather than upgrade the boat.

My 21’ SeaHunt XP 21’ came with a flip flop seat. Those that have ever had this type of seat quickly learn it’s impossible to drive the boat when sitting on the seat. Perhaps more importantly, it’s hard as heck to get a beer out of the cooler when it’s under the seat.

I had seen Happy Bob’s work form the site and was impressed. I reached out to him, told him what I wanted and he put together a beautiful leaning post. He walked me through the whole process. Even talked me through the install.

Now I have 5 more rod holders, removable backrest that fits in my console, flip down footrest and more storage.

The finished product:

That is really nice.

Can you give us a ballpark price?

Wow! Great looking leaning post. Thanks for posting

Happy Bob - I have a new to me 2005 Sea Pro sv2100 and I’m interested in the same leaning post. Can you PM me a rough price?

Thanks!

Price was roughly the same as a similar Taco or Birdsall leaning post. Craftsmanship and customization exceeds a Taco or Birsdall.

I also appreciate my money going to a local craftsman and the great support I received from Bob throughout the process. I’m happy to pay a bit of a premium for it.

Nice work the storage under the seat is a huge plus!!!

I love seeing great, hand built craftsmanship. Very nice.

I would expect nothing less. We have some real craftsmen/artists here on CF.

Really looks good…Bob does great work…here’s something I built that I find really comes in handy…I put a piece of plastic across the back and tightened it so no holes required in leaning post…

Thanks Andy (and everyone else). I’m glad you’re happy with it. Nice job on the install too.
I think this is one of the main reasons I enjoy what I do. It gives me great pleasure to build something that someone else is proud of. (and I like to see my work plastered all over the world wide web:smiley:)

I’ll send those who asked, a PM with prices tomorrow. I’m working on my 3rd after work beer and getting that warm, fuzzy feeling. So I’m off to bed.

Thanks again.
