I’ve never been to the Jetties and planning on heading there Sat morning and i have a few questions.
Are they visable during high tide?
Is it safe for a 19’ tidewater baymax to get on the outside of the jetties at low tide? (Deep enough on the south side of the south jettie or north side of north)
Jack if you have a friend that knows the area and can go with you he may keep you from making a big mistake early on. Ask your friends I bet someone can help, the jetties are a widely variable experience and you can master them but mistakes can be deadly. If not spend some time with a guide if you can do a half day or go to a local tackle shop the guys who work there will talk to you and guide you.
Yeah i need to run to chas Angler Friday anyway so maybe i’ll hit them up for some pointers. Most of my salt water time has been spent in bulls Bay or in the harbor. Wanting to check out the jetties for a change. But not interested in testing out my disapearing deductable from progressive.

Are they visable? Most of the south jetty, yes. North, not really. Your boat is fine but experience is the real key. Big boats equal big wave. Things can go bad real fast.

The jetties can be one of the most fun places to fish especially for variety, but as stated above you have to be extra careful. From big wakes to push you into the rocks, to current on the outside of the jetties depending on tide. Just be safe I’d have a buddy boat ride out with you or see if you can hop on a boat off the forum to kinda get your bearings on how people fish and anchor around the rocks. Good luck!
