Hit the water right at low tide this morning 8am and quickly baited up on large mullet, finger mullet and shrimp. The first spot I stopped at wasn’t producing but I kept seeing about a dozen birds hovering and diving over a shallow flat that was about 500yd up from where I was. I didn’t make a move right away, but then I started seeing fish busting the water under the birds… time to pull anchor and make a move. I pulled up on the flat and it was 1 -2ft of water and pockets of reds busting the water. I threw everything I had, live shrimp and finger mullet under bobber, on Carolina rig… zara puppy (topwater), gulp shrimp… what the heck!! Time to break out some good ol cut mullet and BAM!! it was on. Ended up with 10 or 12 from 21 to 30inches. Hope this is a sign of things to come this fall and winter.
Good adjustment
Cant beat cut mullet this time of year, the fresher the better!
Your boat is really banking hard in this pic. I cannot believe you can stand up when it’s that far up on its side!

Nice catch. That makes any trip memorable when you get lucky and happen to come up on busting bait and it works out right.

I hate when I find reds in the grass and they are just out of reach.Last year I found several by accident way up in a gut.Try as hard as i could i could not get near them.I decided to fish another spot and come back when the tide went down.I came back and still can not figure where the went.I thought i was at the only entrance and exit to that spot?? I check that place every trip and never see any reds there.
