Been wanting to do a day/night surffishing trip from kayak to an island for reds. Tides and light w/ moon look good for this (Oct 2)weekend. Thinking of launching from Folly ldg around noon Friday. Gonna keep everything simple, but worried about cold beer:stuck_out_tongue:
anyone else interested?
Cutmullet,
That is the weekend of the PuoSu tourney up in Charleston. Planning on camping somewhere that weekend in the C-Town area and fishing the tourney from a yak. Is Morris in the allowed areas?
Unable to find it on a Google Maps.

Ahhh, found it on the map… Looks like a perfect location to base camp from for the tourney.
Call me bro… Need to know what I would need to stock, and how far the paddle to and from the car would be to get to the weigh in and back.

Troy, I haven’t made up my mind yet. Thats prob to far for you to haul all your camping gear and fishing stuff, then back and forth for the tourney.
We might camp, fish in tourney, or just fish with you that day.

Scott,
A half hour paddle to and from the launch site is no big deal, I would just need to plan it in to arrive at the weigh in in time is all… I would have to camp at James Island otherwise. Would prefer something a little more remote and primitive, and quicker access to goot fishing Sat morning. Want to try to get out at first light, to target early morning trout and reds on topwaters as they are entering the Grass.
