What is the most common fishing violation you see people getting cited for??
For me, it is people with 1-3 undersized BSB they caught at the jetties or nearshore wrecks. I have seen DNR writing tickets 5-6 times in the last couple years for that. Second most common was people with an 8"-10" baby gag in MI. Saw that twice and one time for undersized reds.
Never seen anyone get cited before. But this did bring a question to mind… who gets the fine if an undersized fish is caught on a charter boat? Angler or Cpt.?
The most abused law I see on the water is people with their feet hanging over the bow of the boat. Thats a big ticket. I see parents letting their kids do it all the time and wonder to myself WTF are they thinking. That doesn’t bother me nearly as much as the parents that insist on towing their children on tubes thru the no wake zones in the ICW, You can’t fix stupid I guess.
On the head boats you are responsible. You sign a waiver, that most don’t read, releiving the boat of the burden. The crew instructs you to release whats not legal. I’ve seen DNR wait on the docks in Little River and write tickets when they step off boat.
Yea. I had no idea about the leg hanging thing until recently. Definitely see that a lot.
I would guess the most broken violation is drinking and driving but never seen anyone get popped.

I agree, however, when growing up I used to ski my feet off the front of a pontoon boat all over lake greenwood. What were my parentals thinking!
