What is the best way to clean the motor with the cowl off? Not sure if I can spray water on it or if there is someting I should buy. Motor is a 250 yamaha.

Ok no porblem. Is there any kind of cleaner that is safe or just the crc and wipe up any salt I see then?

if a motor has salt build up under the cowling, we rinse them with a fine mist of pressurized water, let them dry, then spray them with CRC.
the key is to let them dry.
- Wash with soap and water and let dry.
- I use a mercury polishing compound, but I would assume that any polishing compound would do.

I misread the topic- that is how I clean the cowl. I mist the entire engine blcok down except for the air filter area after it has cooled, let it dry and then spray with CRC.
Sorry if it was poorly worded. I want to clean the engine block, hoses, big plastic pieces etc. Based ont his info ill just take the garden hose on like the fan sedding and mist the engine and wipe at any salt that I see then met it dry in the sun then ill mist with the crc.
