2003 Johnoson (Suzuki) 4 Stroke 70. Went through some pluff mud while shrimping and cannot get motor to start peeing again. This is not uncommon for this motor but usually hooking the hose up at home will clear it up. Wire will not go down the hold far enough to dislodge whatever is in there.
Any ideas? Anyone ever blown air in one and had any luck?
we use full shop pressure (120 psi) and blow through the pee tube, while the motor is running.
if you are reluctant to try it, swing by the shop, and we can give it a try while you wait
I’ve put 120psi through my little 7.5hp with no problem. It didn’t solve my issue, mine turned out to be corrosion at the base of the engine block that had pinched the rubber O-ring shut (where the copper pipe mates with the base of the block). After I removed the block, cleaned the corrosion, made a new RTV seal (obsolete O-ring), I blew 120 through it and all was clear.
You can also try running weed eater cord through it.

You should be able to pull the pilot hole cap right off and inspect it for foreign matter. I used to have this very motor ('02 actually) and had to do this many times. Maybe get hold of a 60ml syringe to flush the peehole from the outside if you’d rather not pull the cap off while on the water.
