Motor rebuild

Have an '05 merc 150 2T. V6. Had a piston burn up on me last week. So, it time for the overhaul. I have two options. Im lookingh for some ■■■■■■■■ on which route to take.

Option 1.
Re-sleeve. New pistons/rings

Option 2.
Bore out all 6 w/ new pistons/rings.

Obviously everything else will be inspected and bearing replaced. This is strickly for the block.

Now. Being a two stroke. I am under the impression that it might take well to a polished exhaust manifold and port matching. Has anyone done such a thing on theirs or had a friend do this? Looking for the pros/cons.

NOTHING WRONG WITH EITHER OPTION
COMPARE THE COST
IF YOU RESLEEVE ONE HOLE, I WOULD GO AHEAD AND PUT NEW RINGS ON THE OTHER 5
PORT AND POLISHING WILL MAKE IT BREATHE EASIER.
IF YOU ARE GOING THAT FAR, MAY AS WELL BALANCE IT ALL AT THE SAME TIME.

IF I RESPOND IN ALL CAPS, ITS NOT ON PURPOSE, AND I AM NOT YELLING

The one part that had me scratching my head was the inside of the exhaust manifold is ?powder coated? I’ve never seen this on other types of 2T engines and couldn’t really find any info on why they would do this. I guessed at corrosion inhibitor but wasn’t sure. If that is the case a yearly cleaning should resolve any issues with that I suspect.

NEVER SEEN ONE WITH ANY TYPE OF COATING, WHAT YOU ARE SEEING IS PROBABLY JUST CASTING PATTERN AND CARBON BUILD UP
