motor shut off when going to natural

Out this weekend an motor started cutting off when
I would back down an go to Natural , but would crank
right back up. Just started this, any idea what
might be the problem ?

Hey, my 150 Yamaha is doing the same thing. Google says possible air idle valve is sticking. It needs to be cleaned or replaced. I don’t have time to figure it out, so it’s in the shop. If you keep rpm’s up it won’t shut off, and is ok to do that to save a day. But, needs to be fixed before your next trip. Because, that’s tough on the motor. Per Google. Could also be a link in your shifter. Per service writer who wrote my ticket. Good luck and tight lines. Hope to get my boat back in a couple weeks.

Its probably a bad doohicky that attaches to that thingamajig.

there are a lot of knowledgeable people here that are always willing to help, but to get good answers, you have to ask good questions.
an example of a good question would be…
I have a 2011 Yamaha 70 4 stroke…
