I’ve been kicking around the idea of upgrading from a 115 to a 150. Will it be worth it? I’m sure I’d see a little gain all around but it may not be enough to justify the cost. Nothing is wrong with the current motor. This is on a 24 foot pontoon.
From what I know I don’t think any increase in horse power will make the toon run much faster. As long as you are happy with what you have keep it till it starts acting up!
there is a HUGE difference between the Yamaha 115 and the Yamaha 150
1.8 liter versus 2.7 liter
380# vs 480#
we just repowered a 21 seapro bayboat from a 115 to 150 and he gained 6mph
