1981 35hp evinrude spins over really good but won’t crank. Checked and it has fire at the plugs.
If you have a GOOD spark and not a weak spark, then I’d be checking the fuel to the cylinder. It takes three things to make a motor run: fire, fuel and compression. Have you validated fuel into the carb bowls and out of the carbs when opening? Is the choke working?
These are where I would start.

Can choke it and hve fuel run out the front of the carb. Neighbor bout the boat and motor from a guy that said it was running a month ago. I’m guessing either he is crazy or ran fuel through it that had water in it. Still gonna check compression though. I think my neighbor is gonna pull the carb and clean it.
Clean the carbs.
give it a shot of fuel in the carb and see if it kicks over.
