I have a motorguide greatwhite trolling motor and it will not shut off. I can still adjust the speed but it stays on in the lowest setting unless I disconnect the motor. Has anyone had a similiar issue and fixed it? Thanks!
Sounds like the main power relay is stuck closed. I am not sure where the relay/speed control board is on that unit. If you pull the cover(s) off and look for a 1" square, black plastic housing attached to a circuit board (sometimes they are “potted” or flood sealed with epoxy), give it a tap with the end of a screw driver. I may release and be okay for awhile. Otherwise you may need a new control board.

If it is not potted and you are good with a soldering iron, a replacement relay could be installed. If you are really lucky the relay could be a push on connection.
