Moultrie/Marion reports ?

Anybody been fishing them?

Wind from the West, fish bite the best.
Wind from the South blows bait in their mouth.
North or East, take extra beer.</font id=“size1”>

WENT ACROSS MARION BY THE DIKE WALL LAST SATURDAY ABOUT 2ISH…RIGHT BY RANDOLFS…THERE WAS A SCHOOL WITH BIRDS…NO SMALL BAITS ONBOARD…JUST STRECTH 25’S…MARKED BAIT AND FISH IN THAT HOLE CORNER THERE…GOING BACK TOMORROW{SAT}…FISHED LOWER LAKE LAST WEEK AND NOTHING, NATA, ZIP…MARKED BAIT AND FISH BY BONNEU…BUT NO HITS…READ A POST SOMEWHERE THAT SOMEONE HAD CAUGHT SOME WEEKEND BEFORE LAST…BUT NOTHING…

that is the first report I heard of stripers in Lake Marion…

but is a good sign…when they start by the ■■■■ they usually move to the trees around the cut channel that runs across the lake…

keep us informed…and hopefully in the next week or two I can start fishing again…

have a friend that still fishes moultrie by the dam mostly.he lives in bonneau beach.used to own the lake moultrie motel.he says the stripers have been coming back some with the reduced pressure.he has caught some nice fish this summer on big herring deep.he says you see very few boats fishin for them these days.

i hope they come back to some extent to what they once were.i miss fishin there.

gots to get out for some trout

night time fishing at the Moultrie dam was the best in the country. Cool evenings, no jet skiies, no fun riders createing large wakes…just peace and quiet…and catching fish…life was good.

I also hope this fishing will come back again…

amen to that.

I agree with all of yall…Sure would be nice to catch them like we use to…maybe with the release of 2 millon plus fingerlings they might get some growing…said that they let them grow a little larger before releasing them…maybe they will make it…
