I was out from Bonneau yesterday catching some white perch for a night trip that got rained out and caught 50+ 4" long stripers on the sabiki heck I caught 5 at one time. That is a good sign I would for the population I would think. Lynn just thought you would like to know your fish are doing fine.
Please remember the new law that makes it illegal to attempt to catch stripers from June 1 through September 30 in the Santee system and coastal rivers. I havenāt had a chance to speak with DNR about how they determine āattempt to takeā, just know that the rule is out there.
The GW I spoke to said while youāre fishing for other fish, if you start catching stripers in numbers, then you better move to another spot. He said they have a lot of leeway in writing tickets based on their interpretations of whether you are actively trying to catch stripers or not.
The GW you were talking too might right a ticket for it but in NO WAY could it ever stick. They cant make you stop fishing for your targeted species no matter how many stripers you catch. I would proabally go to jail if a GW pulled up on me caching bait or catfish and putting a few stripers in the boat and told me I had to leave I would probablly let my mouth overloead my butt but I wouldnt leave without being forced too.
Hey man, thanks for the report!
I must have overlooked this post. [:0]
Only a few more months, then we will see how well they are doing!
Iād be happy with another year like the lastā¦
I agree, how can they make you move just because you accidentally catch a fish with the stripes?!?
I know I would probably end up taking a ride in the backseat of a cruiserā¦[:0]
