Mount Pleasant Pier

Went out their today (12-30-11) and was almost skunked. Right after i got their somebody pulled in a 15 inch red on frozen shrimp. I went chasin the sheeps today, fished last 2 ours of outgoing, high, and first hour and a half of outgoing. My catch of the day was an 8in blue crab. People out their had fiddlers doas oysters mussels shrimp and clams. Even the asian guy out their didnt catch a thing![:0] I had fiddlers with a size 2 circle hook on a 1oz and 3/4 oz weight. Missed one bite(which im blaming on the hooks cause everyone else is:stuck_out_tongue:). Just a bad day, but its a good place going out their again sometime. Good news is i got to educate and old black couple on how to use spinning gear, a chicago women on everything fishing and seafood:wink:

A small fish in hand is better than big fish in promise

Go to a smaller circle hook

Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

With the spinning reel facing you correct. That’s how I do it catch plenty. I brake a lot of rods though.

I was at haddrells trying to find some circle hooks too. i had to settle with 1/0. Then i went to remley point and did no good so i moved to pitt st and had the same luck. i think i may try mt pleasant pier tomorrow. Oh and Walmart by ashley phosphate is also out of 1 circle hooks

I got a fishing pole for my wife…Greatest trade i ever made.

I think sheepshead have been removed from the snapper/grouper complex as of today, so you should not be required to use circle hooks any longer.
