So my brother and I escaped for an hour Friday and hit the trout stream. He was spinning and I was flying. Beat him 5 to 3. Multi-night camping trip coming up soon, which is always fun because there are 5 of us going, and I will be the only one using a flyrod, again. It has always been fun coming back to camp with my limit of trout for supper, and all the others have those stream bass, a few sunfish and a couple of trout. Is it ok to gloat and be stuck up in these situations? So what is it about the sound of water over rocks that almost puts me to sleep while standing knee deep in it? Didn’t even bother checking my blood pressure when I got home, just laid down and went to sleep. I’m trying for aone trip a week now that it has warmed up some. Next time I’ll have some pictures.
nice! maybe they will convert. u are correct about the water, it has both effects on me; either like a sweet sedative or a slobbering mad dog. the power of water.
bows? browns? hatches?
All bows, using a quill gordon to match what it looked like was hatching. I did see some mayflies (?) right at dark, long twin tails but the body was a bit shorter. Not that good of a bug man to tell since I couldn’t catch one.
