Big difference in those old Jab built compact trucks than the american built trucks of today. The tundra has too many refinements and gas consumption considerations that indestructibility went out the window about 2 decades ago.

They still make them like this, just not in the US. I wish my dad could have brought home his HZJ70 landcruiser pickup from South Sudan a few months ago. This is a 2013, they use these for military, bulletproof caravans, crossing deserts with machine guns on them. Crazy how well they are built.
