Moving to Mt. Pleasant

I’m an avid angler here in VA who is moving to Mt. Pleasant in early 2013. I’ve got a short 'yak (wilderness systems ripper) and a few years paddle experience and fishing. I’m looking for freshwater destinations and or “safer” salty ones. I don’t think my rig’s right for the Cooper or Wando esp. if I’ve got to hang with boat wake. Most of the spots I but my teeth on around here are TM only lakes. I’d welcome and suggestions and insight.
I’m gonna have to retool my rod/reels too since I’m used to fishing UL for everything panfish.
Tight lines and best fishes.

Check with Tommy Samuels who posts here as Too Busy www.kayakfishSC.com. If you need a house, get with my cousin William(Billy) D. Storen who lives in MP.

A ripper is a little small. It’s great for surfing, not so much for fishing. You should be good on the upper Wando launching from Paradise and Copahee sound (very few boats there) launching at Gadsenville Rd.

THe cooper gets really sporty with lots of boat traffic. Give me a shout and I’ll be happy to point you to some saafe spots.
