MSA Reauthorization

Does anyone think we should submit public comments with a coordinated message regarding changes we would like to see in the Magnuson-Stevens Act? This would be a good time to push for state control of natural resources including seafood within America’s EEZ.

Here is a link to the House Committee on Natural Resources press release. http://naturalresources.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=364840

That act should be abolished,it was a sham, they knew what they were doing under the disquise of national security…

I never would have believed in the greatest nation on earth we would have to defend our freedom to fish?

I wish i had some good ideas but all of mine include public hangings for all who abused their power…harsh maybe to some but you stole the only reason i bought a boat,to fish period that is it,now for 5 months it basicaly sits due to closures…

The other problem i see freefish, they are attacking us at all ends, the gun people are trying to do what they do,we can only fight so many battles, people are being pulled so many different ways, its hard to get everyone on board with just 1 issue, again they know what they are doing…thats why all the meetings are when most working people are working…no oposition they are a worthless bunch of cowards…

I truely hope they (safmc board)do read this,as a tax paying, small business owner you have screwed over by your knee jerk, fabricated crisis…i hope they all rot in hell…

Oh yeah we fished today and caught your so called endangered BSB and american you cant have Red snapper…

I understand your frustration Gut Wrench. I was extremely angry when I started getting involved. Unelected bureaucrats with the full weight of our federal government behind them destroyed my job and played a key role in the death of a fellow fisherman who had been working within miles of us for days. I was living the American dream earning an honest living feeding people when they decided to create dangerous derby fisheries rather than using appropriate possession limits to properly manage quotas they drastically reduced using “fatally flawed data”. This is either gross mismanagement or a malicious attempt to advance other agendas. The waste of our resources they so callously caused is a crime against nature and one of the worst cases of premeditated government mandated animal abuse in human history.

I studied and learned why these things are happening. I learned this is part of an international plot to control our natural resources and access to them. Multi-national corporations are leading this through eco-charity and political pawns they “contribute” large sums of money to. I learned about something called the “evils of bureaucracy”. This evil is unleashed when otherwise good people are willing to do the kind of things to their fellow man that they would never dream of doing individually because they are paid to and feel absolved of any personal responsibility. I learned that some of those in the bureaucracies are aware of what is happening or at least willing to do the right thing if asked. Big issues like VMS require more people to ask. I learned how the management process works and will continue to try to educate others about it while offering simple ways to peacefully defend our freedom to fish and eat American seafood. Knowledge is POWER and we have POWER in numbers.

“It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds.”

Samuel Adams

I seriously appreciate all you and the many others have done…
