Okay since we are new at all this and this will be our first time participating in a MSC Tournament I was wanting to get some basic information …
I’ve read the rules and all that, but I’ve never fished in a tournament … ever … so I was wondering about some of the unwritten rules …
Like, the weigh in is at Acapulco, but I don’t want to launch from there (not when I have a ramp in my back yard) …
What are the do’s and dont’s as far as the methods of fishing?
Can I use any bait I want to?
Can I chum?
Are we restricted to a specific areas?
Do the fish have to be alive at the scales (preferably, I’m sure but if that’s the case we currently lack the ability to do that and I’ll have to fix some things before Saturday)?
Lines in at 7 but can I put my boat in at 6am?
These types of questions may seem to be … well … dumb … but you guys have been doing this for years and like I said, I’ve never fished in a tournament … Plus, I’m pretty sure I already know the answers to these types of questions, but I con’t want to get to the scales and then be told, “oh hey, you shouldn’t have done that” …
Also, do we know how many teams are fishing this weekend? In searching the forum last year there was a post asking for all the team names and the names of the team members … Wasn’t sure if that was going to be asked again or what …
Lastly, does anyone know where to get bait … Obviously, I can get from David, but does anyone know if he’ll be working out of the ramp? If yes, then I presume Acapulco since it’s right next to his house … Is he still just carrying Herring or might he have some Shad as well …
it’s my Wife’s fault we HAVE to fish now!!!
