Things get interesting on the Hill.
On August 17, 2019, the Midlands Striper Club held its August tournament on Clark’s Hill / Thurmond Lake Tournament. 21 teams participated in the Tournament. A total of 37 striped bass were brought to the scales weighing a total of 262.49 pounds with a 7.09- pound average. 18 teams were able to bring a full two fish creel to the scales.
Finishing in first place with a total weight of 28.38 pounds was Team Knot Right captained by Allen Rogers from Saluda, SC, along with Mitch Long from Ward, SC
Team Knot Right also won the Justin Christopher Big Fish Award sponsored by The Nichols Store with a 22.12-pound Striper.
Finishing in second place with a total weight of 27.94 pounds was Team Time to Fish captained by Mike Gault from Union, SC, along with Steve Morrow from Prosperity, SC, and Jimmy Crocker from Union, SC.
Finishing in third place with a total weight of 20.05 pounds was Team Landlocked captained by Richy Brensinger along with Joey Smoak, both from Lexington, SC.
Lady Angler Award went to Liz Sineath from Team Stone Age.
Youth Angler Award went to RJ Sineath from Team Stone Age.
Finishing in eleventh place with a total weight of 12.72 pounds was Team Well Hung.
